Best Young Entrepreneur Finale - Fingal

The search to find Ireland’s Best Young Entrepreneur (IBYE) is advancing to the County Final stage, which takes place on Wednesday, 30th November in County Hall, Swords and is being organised by Local Enterprise Office Fingal and is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation and Enterprise Ireland. The IBYE local County final will award six local entrepreneurs a share of its €50,000 investment fund, the six winning local entrepreneurs will be selected across three main categories, namely Best Business Idea, Best Start-Up Business and Best Established Business.

The Best Business Idea category will be contested by Aisling Byrne of Malahide with “NU,” an App that allows users to exchange their clothes with other users, Louisa May Hanrahan from Portmarnock with “Luv Guru“ a fun Dating App, Marcin Kulik of Malahide with “Smart Trace” software that enables the management of all waste, Sean-Paul White of Rush with an IV Fluid Thermal Regulator and Shane McAvinchey from Malahide with his durable soundproof Pad for dance practice.

The Best Start-Up Business will be contested by Darya Yegorina of Castleknock with “CleverBooks,” a mobile App supported interactive 3D book, Jennifer Rock from Rush with “Cleanse Off Mitt,” a new reusable microfiber cosmetic mitt, Mark Coleman also from Rush with “The HotSeat,” an innovative Outdoor Heating system, Seamus Tighe of Castleknock with “Everest Granola” a range of fruity gourmet granola cups and Sean Murray also from Castleknock with “We Bring,” a crowd sourced on demand delivery platform.

Best Established Business to be contested by James Brogan of Castleknock with “Legacy Consultants” a consultancy bringing the worlds of sports and business together, Brendan Sutton from St. Margarets with “Lopoly” an independent games development studio, Damian O’Kelly from Swords with “Nutritics Ltd” a cutting edge nutrition science combined with the latest web technologies, Debbie McQuillan from Kinsealy with “VanityX Make Up Academy” offering internationally recognised diploma courses in makeup artistry and Shay Lally of “Mobile Music School,” a mobile service that delivers high quality music programmes in primary and secondary schools throughout Ireland.

The competition is now in its third year and Oisín Geoghegan, Head of Local Enterprise said that the standard of entries is higher than ever. “The exceptionally high standard of entries will make the competition tough and challenging, but it will also help bring out the full potential of entrants and inspire them to succeed whether they win at the County Final stage or not.”

Among the special guests at the awards ceremony will be Minister of State for Employment and Small Business Pat Breen TD, County Mayor, Cllr. Darragh Butler and Chief Executive of Fingal County Council, Paul Reid.
